What is the general feeling about installing laminate flooring under stoves (drop-in or standing) and dishwashers?

 

I would definitely put it under the stove to keep it level. Who wants a cake with a 45 degree slant? The dishwasher is different. If you put it under the dishwasher, chances are you won't be able to get the dishwasher back under the cabinet top. What I do is to screw the front feet of the dishwasher all the way up. Put the laminate under the feet. Then screw the feet back down. This way, you can get the dishwasher in and out, if you have to. Remember to silicone the expansion gap around the walls and seal the cut edge under the dishwasher with some of the glue to waterproof it.
