removing gooey glue from hardwood floors
#1

I am removing vinyl 'peel and stick' tiles from a hardwood floor. The tiles remove very easily. The glue that remains on the floor is very gooey (not hard at all). It looks as though extra glue was applied when laying the vinyl tile down because glue has popped up through all the seams and has turned black and nasty looking. This is why I am removing them and I was pleasantly surprised the find a nice wood floor beneath. I removed 2, 12" square tiles and it took 1 1/2 hours to remove the glue with acetone, a plastic scraper and steel wool. Does anyone have a faster method?
