Help Identify this Wood Flooring Please

A contractor told me that this is rosewood but I have no way of identifying the wood. Can anyone identify it? If so, how is rosewood as a floor and how much do you think it should cost per square foot?

Thanks !!

It could very well be tiete rosewood, but its hard to tell from just one plank. There is usually some variation in the wood. They aren't all as uniformly tight grained as that one, are they?

One way to tell is to drill or cut it and smell it.
There's a reason it's called rose wood.

The rosewood mentioned above is also known as Patagonian cherry.
