What about plank or plywood as flooring?
Some people have went back into time (the good ole days), & have installed plank wood or plywood for their flooring. A friend of mine has recently installed plywood and I have to say it is a beautiful floor but I'm sure there are cons to this method. If you have any information a person needs to know, please feel free to give it.
Also, I'm checking on information about Vinyl plank flooring. A friend of mine also recommended this to me. I am pretty sure the name was TrafficMaster
Thanks for input

Plywood is not intended to be used as a finished floor.
It's going to wear through and expose the ply's.
Plank flooring has it's own issues. It would need to be jointed on the edges so there was no gaps, and planed so it would lay flat on the subflooring, unless it was T & G it's more likely to squeak, it would have to be face nailed.
If I wanted that look I would use engineered prefinished flooring. You can get it in hand scraped rustic looking style.
There's hundreds of post on this site and any other DIY sites on strip flooring. If you use the search function they should come up.
Some issues with it have been the smell for a few weeks after it's installed, it smells like latex paint to me.
Gaps opening up.
Mold forming under it if it's damp where it's installed.

My brother in law used plank barnboard for the flooring in their home. It looks great. I believe they took chains (many) and laid them out on the boards prior to installation and stomped all over them to give the wood a distressed look. Screwed it down, finished it with varathane I believe. Several years later it still looks great.
