wood floor

Room had newspaper under linoleum. Pulled this up and has beautiful wood underneath. Never finished it appears. There is water stain under window. Best way to remove stain and then finish. I have no experience with this. Older home with dimensional wood. Thank you in advance.

Some stains on wood floors can be taken out by vigorous sanding. Others, if the wood is black, just need to be toothed out and replaced. If you could post a picture, that would help. Click on the Go Advanced tab, and you should be able to figure out how to attach a picture from your pc.

Sometimes oxalic acid is helpful with removing dark stains in wood. Here's some additional instructions for posting pics - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

100% sure this is not the subfloor your looking at that's going to be full of gaps where cold air from can come in?
