Under floor heating over plastic tiles?
Hello
I plan to install underfloor heating under an engineered floor. The existing floor is concrete with plastic tiles glued onto it. Without the heating, I have read that I can leave the tiles under the floor - but is it OK to use underfloor heating (electric) over the tiles? (and under the engineered floor of course).
Many thanks for any advice.

Not sure I have ever heard of plastic floor tiles. I would be inclined to remove the tiles prior to installing your radiant heat strips. Radiant strips are usually embedded in a layer of concrete with finished flooring going on top. I still question the effectiveness of a radiant system under a wood floor. Wood is not a great conductor of heat so I'm not sure what the benefit would be. The heat would also effect the stability of the engineered floor as it would tend to make it want to expand from the heat at a different rate than those areas that do not have heat under them.
