Silicone Removal from Wood Laminate Flooring

Unfortunately some silicone caulking got tracked in on someone's shoes and adhered to about two square feet of wood flooring. Its real thin, not goopy but needs to come up.

How do I remove this?

Thank you.

Plastic putty knife to get most of it a clean terry cloth towel wrapped around a finger for the rest.
WD 40 on the rag may help.
Anything like Goo Gone, Opps, finger nail polish may take the finish off.
