Laminate flooring on ledge next to stairs
I just finished installing laminate flooring in my living room and I'm doing some finishing work now. I have a little ledge maybe 6 inches wide that runs next to my stairs. It's basically big enough for 2 rows of flooring to fit on. The question I have is how do I anchor this so that it doesn't slide around or off the ledge since my floor is a floating floor?
This picture is basically what I'm dealing with except my ledge doesn't have a curve to it, it's just straight.

You would need a stair nose transition piece to go at the overhang. This piece would overlap onto the flooring but not be nailed to the flooring. The wall side would have base molding covering the expansion gap. As this is such a thin area as far as width, the expansion and contraction is substantially less than if this was a full room. You can be a little tighter on the gap tolerances and not have an issue.
