Transporting Wood Flooring

I am getting some old hardwood flooring from a friend. Its in good shape and the pricing works for me. I need to pick up 325 sq. ft. and am wondering if it will fit in my Toyota Tacoma regular bed truck. The bed is 6ft by 4ft. I have tie downs so it could be stacked and extend out the bed. Its about an hour drive so I would rather get it in one shot. I could bring another friend with a cargo van too to help. Any suggestions on if I could fit this in just my truck?

Yes, it should fit and won't need the straps if you are moderately careful with how you load it. Throwing it in in a jumble will waste a lot of space but if you get all the planks aligned in the same direction and try not to have too much dead space you should have plenty of room.

Next time you are in a home improvement store take a look at how big a bundle of solid hard wood flooring is. Boxes are usually 40 square feet so that will give you an idea of it's volume when packed solid.
