Question

I have heard about screwing and gluing plank flooring directly to an existing concrete floor, but does it really work? I can not find any info on how to start, or what glue to use. Also, do I have to put down a subfloor first? Any info would be appreciated.

blondie i cant think of any reason why you cant do this. if you decide to glue to the concrete. be sure to level it very well first.you should check with a local expert if you can find one to find out which glueto use. they have plenty of them available for wood to concrete applications. to do the job right i would first level the concrete, then glue down 3/8 to 1/2 inch plywood for a base, they also make other base material that may work better. as long as you dont get any moisture problems between the concrete and subfloor you should not have any future problems. i am not a floor expert but i put a few down. larry
