You've been around long enough to know what I think of laminate flooring. If the tile floor is in good shape, and you use a good underlayment, you can install it over the tile. You won't have the problems normally associated with an installation on a wooden structured floor. You'll still have the "clack", but that's laminate.

Chandler, do you think/know if I will have a problem of the recessed grout lines pattern transferring up through the laminate?
Would some the liquid type floor leveling compounds adhere to the glazed tile enough to eliminate this
Or am I over thinking this

No, your laminate will be stiff enough to span grout joints, and the underlayment will help cushion it.
