Here I put some pictures from my stairs.I would like some ideas to finish it.

Should I paint put carpet or laminate?

What are the pros and cons for each option?

Thanks !!!!!

No Laminate, it is a floating floor and not designed for stairs. Refreshing the paint is an option that will probably be you most affordable. Carpet hides a multitude of sins. And for an optimal staircase, remove the treads, paint the risers white, and install stained oak treads.

However, if this is just your basement stairs, I would opt for the paint.

Paint it with the same floor enamel that you use on the treads. IMO it looks best if it matches the rest of the staircase.
