Interior doors to be installed on subfloor or finished wood flooring?
Do interior doors get installed on the subfloor or finished floor? I am wondering in new construction where there will be 3/4" thick finished wood flooring, if the door jambs rest on the subfloor or finished floor.

You'd install the doors to match the finished floor height. If installing the doors prior to the flooring, just stick a piece of flooring [or equivalent thickness] under the prehung to get it set at the correct height. If you set the doors directly on the sub floor you'd have to under cut them when you install the floor.

If you have the choice, install the doors after the final floor is installed. Otherwise, the floor installers will have to cut your trim and jambs to fit the flooring in. Some interior doors come with long jamb tails, so project that in your final look, as you may want to trim a little off to keep the door gap down. The door gap also helps in circulating HVAC, so it isn't always bad to have one.
