Hello, I sanded and re-finished my dining room oak flooring last year. Didn’t stain (left natural) and sealed with Minwax Ultimate Floor Finish (water based-poly). The floors turned out great! I have a few small gaps throughout the room that are not a big concern, but I have a few larger gaps in one concentrated area (see attached photo) that I wish I had addressed before sealing. Can I fill the gaps completely with wood filler now, sand down the area (approximately 4ft x 4ft) and re-seal? If so, how does that work when sealing, will there be an “overlap” look to the poly. I need help identifying the 2 different types of solid hardwood flooring in the 3 pictures below. The first photo is from the dining/living room of our first floor circa 1923 home. The other 2 photos are from the kitchen. There was tar paper scraped off the top of the kitchen flooring. Some residue remains which makes it difficult to see the wood in the photos.
