Wood Moisture Level

The 26 boxes of wood are in the basement, the rooms are pretty much ready to start.

Just because I've never used a moisture gauge before I thought I'd pick one up just for curiosity.

Readings on the sub flooring (OSB) and existing Oak flooring that came out of foyer are relatively consistent.

However, I've checked the new wood in 5 different boxes and I get zip, nothing, 0.0!

The sample we picked up several weeks ago, I get a similar reading to the OSB & old wood.

So, assume this is the acclimation part? I should just hold off until readings are similar?

Any way I can speed up the process?

Yes, this is part of the acclimation. How long has the wood been in the house? Typically it takes 3 days to acclimate. You can open the boxes in the rooms and spread out the wood to speed it along, espically if they are wrapped in plastic.

It's been 5 days but will check tomorrow. I opened up the boxes, no plastic, but heat, and humidity, have not been running much except the last couple days.

Was 73 on Friday and only 30ish this weekend.
