How do I tell if this is "hardwood" floor?

SO I found out recently that there is a wood floor under our carpet which I have been wanting to get rid of since we moved in to the house. Problem is, its clearly not finished by any means. Question I have is this a wood floor I could finish and seal and use?

Yeah I was wondering that. I am assuming the layered look to the wood is an indication of that?

The layers are called "plys". And the sheet edges will be every 4 or 8 ft, since the sheets are 4x8. And it's all face nailed every 8" or so.

The good news is you can put most any type of floor covering you want over the subfloor plywood.
btw - welcome to the forums!
