Laminate transition problems

I have 2 issues involving installation of transitons one being a stepdown and the other a t. On the step down my track appears to be too small so the notch wont slide easily into the track. I can get the track on there but not when it's screwed into subfloor. The 2nd issue with the t transition is that it's wobbly. I've drilled the screws in as far as I can go yet it still moves.

I personally was never a big fan of the composite transitions that use the channels to hold them in place. I usually go for a wooden transition piece that I stain close to the laminate flooring color and then shoot it with nails to the subfloor making sure not to put any nails through the flooring itself, only the molding.

You can try to glue a small strip of wood down to the reducer to raise the channel up slightly. Liquid nails for subfloors and maybe something like a cut down paint stir stick to raise under the channel will raise it slightly.
