whats the best price youve seen for 2 1/4 red oak

not looking for a link or anything. just wondering if i can find a better price or am i dreaming.

a local surplus place has the 3/4" red oak for 1.99. thats the 2 1/4" wide planks. the big box stores are 2.49-3.99.

anyone ever seen #1 for less? think i can find it for $1 sq ft?

By 2 1/4" I assume you are looking wood flooring. I did a quick search online and found some #1 for $1.39 (shorts) - $2.79

Otherwise, I seem to recall that liquidator flooring store had Oak for a fairly cheap price. That was for rustic grade though.
