laundry room drain w/ wood/vinyl flooring?

Despite talking to a few hardwood/vinyl floor manufactures and reading up on the installation guides which recommend not using vinyl/hardwood where there is a laundry room floor drain there a way around this?

I am in the process of remodeling a room in our home that is split level, and I'd like to stay consistent with the same vinyl or wood throughout the house and stairs, but this one area where a washer and dryer goes - that is hidden by bi fold doors, has a slight gradual floor drain. I really do not want to change the flooring type/style in this part of the house just to accommodate the drain, or use a product like linoleum.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to go about this? I can post pics if needed.

I would treat the floor in the laundry area where the floor drain is separately. Hardwood and plank vinyl flooring is not designed to withstand water, especially wood flooring. They are also designed to be installed on a level which means they don't handle the slope of a floor drained area.
