Gluing thin strip of tiles on to OSB subfloor?
I'm installing floating laminate on upstairs rooms with OSB subfloor. For the transition between the rooms and to the hallway, I'm considering two options other than the T-moldings:
1. Butting the hallway and room laminates with about 1/16" to 1/8" gap, screw down the edges, and fill the gap with caulk. Will there be issue with expansion?
2. Leave 1" to 4" gap, screw down the edges, glue down mosaic tiles in between with 1/8" grout lines. Can you glue tiles directly on to the OSB subfloor without backerboard? The mosaic tiles with glue will just be enough height as the laminate with underlayment.
