Engineered Hardwood to back door transition

Hello all,

I have engineered hardwood floor, floating, need to tackle this back door transition. Whats the best way to install to this door? Leave a gap and caulk, replace the metal transition? Thanks in advance for any help.

Pretty sure that aluminum sill is part of the door, (screwed to the jambs from each side) so I dont think replacing it is an option. I would probably gap it 3/16" and caulk it. You could also create your own transition. Basically a piece of wood slightly thicker than your flooring (maybe 3/16" - 1/4" thicker) that would sit in front of the door sill... but notched on one half with a rabbet so that the floor can partially slip under it, and hide the expansion gap.
