Laminate in bathroom

I am looking to replace bathroom floor. Currently is 1x2 tile. My options in play are tearing a out current floor and putting down a larger format tile or going with a plank laminate over the top of existing. The walls have 4x4 tile so between that and the tub, I am not sure how to cover the edge of the laminate where it meets the wall or tub. Any suggestions?

At the tub I'd probably either butt and caulk or use a tee molding. At the tile edge I would probably use a bullnose (quarter round) trim tile right on top of the old tile/new floor, then grout it to match. At your doorway you would either use a t molding or a reducer molding, depending on the height in the hallway.

I have also seen vinyl cove glued onto the existing wall tile.

Most laminate is not recommended for bathrooms so make sure that the one ypou choose has a warranty in a bathroom.

I would not trust any laminate in a bathroom. Even the "water resistant" ones consistently fail.

Yes, vinyl plank flooring is what I was considering. I was wrong to use the term laminate.
