Transitions against molding or under?

I have a transition from vinyl plank to carpet between rooms with baseboard molding along the walls. Is it best to put the baseboards down first and butt the ends of the transition up to them, or is it best to put the transition down from wall to wall and notch the underside of the baseboard to go over the top of them. I am thinking the first option would be easier to make it looks seamless but thought I'd ask you guys.

Yes, baseboards first, then transitions fit in between,
