Laminate Floor to Stairs - Height Difference

Hello, thanks in advance for the help. Looking to install 10mm thick flooring in a hallway, but not sure how to handle the height difference against the stairs. The wood is 3/4 inch. Someone recommended that I add 1/4 inch plywood down, but concerned how that would impact the transitions to my other rooms. Any suggestions would be great!

If you can find and rent a jamb saw, you could undercut the entire base rail. Then slip the flooring into that notch, leaving room for expansion. Otherwise you might try to dd the right thickness of subfloor (3/8?) to make your flooring flush with the top of the base rail, and snap a t moulding around everything.

You would need threshold reducers at doorways anywhere the flooring does not continue through the doorway.
