Hey there y'all:

I am planning a new home on a crawl space with radiant heat in the floors. Can anyone provide info on the best choice of wood flooring and installation method(s).

leveling before laying wood

The plywood subfloor I'm going to install over was laid over old "tree" joists. Logs hewn on one side. In a couple of places the ply doesn't meet up, one piece rides a little higher than the other. As this is going to be the place I nail into, I want to level these rough spots up before I lay the floor. Self leveling compound doesn't seem like the right thing as it's concrete and would most likely crack and crumble when nailed through. What would you use? Thanks DerekRead More
