I am half way done installing lamintate flooring in my kitchen and hallway. I am still alittle bit scared about spilling and getting water/juice etc between the floor and kitchen sink cabinet area. I have not put sealant there as was advised against it, deeming not necessary. I would still like to put some sort of caulking there, prior to my quarter round. We spill alot and I don't always know about the spilling right away, (three little kids)(past experience). My question is; if I put sealant under the sink cupboards would it effect the 'floating' aspect of my floor. What substance would work best in a give/take situation as this?

Thanks
Mermie

This may not be pleasent but I strongly recommend: Use silicone and with your finger spread the silicone on the edges, especially the fresh cut edges of the laminate planks very liberally.
