Acclimating new hardwood floor

The National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Assoc. recommends 4-5 days. Place the wood in the rooms where it will be installed. If packaged, open boxes or remove from boxes to aid in the wood's adjusting to temperature and humidity conditions of the home. Heating/AC system should be running and temperature and humdity at occupancy levels. If you are installing over a crawl space, a 6 mil polyethylene moisture retarder is recommended along with adequate foundation vents with no dead air spaces. If over a basement, it should be dry. Hardwood flooring is kiln dried to very low moisture levels, and every precaution should be taken to protect your investment.

What kind of flooring, Scope? Different materials require different amounts of time and is the house lived in or vacant?
