Leveling the underlayment

After having removed a dividing wall - I want to put down a laminate floor in this new open space room. One side of the room has a hardwood floor (3/4") - the other has a plywood underlayment (5/8"). Consequently - I have a difference in height between the two sections of 1/8".

Any suggestions how I can make this level? The thinnest Plywood I can find is 1/4".

Take a look at tempered hardboard. It might be thin enough to work.

Piece 'O' Cake

An elevation at a demarcation line is no problem. Transition moldings will easily handle the challange. There are also adapter profile moldings that are made expressly for this type of application. Adaptor moldings can accomodate and elevation difference of +/- 1/2"
