Cool another stair question

I am a new diyer and want to tackle the main stairs to our second floor. It has one landing in the middle. I would like to use a laminate because of my messy family but am not sure where to begin. I would like to paint the riser and just place wood product on the actual step with a bull nose end. The stairs are simple 2 ply that was put in before painting the house since it is covered with paint droppings and nail holes. Help!

Installing laminate on stairs

Each laminate manufacturer has their own specific instructions for installing laminate on stairs. Many of the laminate manufacturer's have installation instructions posted on their website. For instance, go to www.ifloor.com/lam/1168/1112.install.shtml#stair for Wilson Art instructions. Once you determine what product you need and how much, then you need to follow manufacturer's instructions for surface prep, acclimation of the laminate, and installation.
