Question subfloor for vinyl

Is it ok to use screws to install 1/8" subfloor for vinyl? I only have a 6 X 8' area to do and do not own a staple gun.

I don't see why not; the trick would be to get the heads countersunk so they are EXACTLY flush with the surface. Otherwise you'll get either raised dimples (not driven deep enough) or, later on after some use, pockmarks (screws driven below flush).

Installing subfloor for vinyl

Any seams and screw holes should be covered with floor patch and sanded smooth. Vinyl requires a super smooth surface for a proper installation.

Thanks for the help.

Counter sunk all the screws and put down floor leveler. Did the trick.
