Mildew stains in hardwood floors

Mildew stains in hardwood may penetrate deep into the wood. Bleaching with oxalic acid may lighten the stains. Replacing the affected boards may be necessary. Sometimes using a dark stain is effective for camouflaging stains that are impossible to remove.
