Unhappy black permanent marker on wood flooring.

Hi!
My grandson drew me a picture on my hard wood floor with a permanent magic marker. Is their any thing that I can use to remove this. We just bought this house 3 years ago and when we removed the carpeting their was hard wood flooring under it.
We do want to refinish the floor, but not at this time.

Thank You.

Permanent marker on wood floors

Permanent marker tends to be permanent. If the floor has a penetrating stain and wax finish, you might have luck removing the stain with 0000 superfine steel wool and paste floor wax. If you have a polyurethane finish floor, you might have luck with a soft cloth and acetone (nail polish remover). Some graffitti removers tout success removing permanent marker. Always test any remedy in inconspicuous place for ill effects.
