Angry old foam padding stuck to floor

I have removed OLD carpet from my living room to find a beautiful wood floor but in the high traffic areas the padding has adhered to the floor. It is foam rubber. They stapled it down so I don't believe there is glue. How do I remove it?

Removing old carpet pad

Use a scraper, scraping gently in the direction of the wood grain and taking care not to damage the wood.

Thank you. I am doing that now and it is working --it will just take awhile to do it all as it is a large room. I have three more rooms to do after this one but it will be worth it in the end. Thanks again for the advise.
