polyurethane as protection
#1

My cat, Scarf & Barf, eats so fast she throws up...all over my hardwood floor! If I refinish with 3 coats of polyurethane will that protect the floor? (Yes, I know I'll have to sand, bleach, etc. to remove the stains that are there, but this is a 30 year old floor that needs all of that anyway.) Obviously I clean up the mess as soon as I see it, but sometimes I don't see it right away! Will the liquid eat through the polyurethane leaving a white stain, or is the polyurethane tough enough to withstand it?

From my pleasant experience cleaning up nightime fur ball barf for 3 cats, as long as you clean it up asap, the floors should be ok. Any standing liquid on hardwood could cause a problem
For you cat's sake, as the vet if there is a problem.
