I start tae on Thursday. I'm both excited and nervous. I went ahead and signed all the papers tonight, and got my dobok (doo-bok). Ian (10) is so excited. He's trying to teach me my form. I'm not a very fast learner so he gets frustrated. Of course, he didn't learn it in one night either LOL.
My instructor asked me what kind of meals I fix, when do I eat, etc. He asked all this after trying to find a dobok that would fit a 5 foot 9 inch person that is carrying only 126 pounds on her. He said that my lifestyle and eating habits were now going to change!
I will update after my first lesson. Wish me luck.

Okay, I have officially become acquainted with muscles and body parts that I didn't know I even had. I'm am tired, and am afraid that I'm going to be sore tomorrow! It was a great workout. I'm so excited that I started this. I feel really good. I actually feel taller?
I also cannot begin to tell you how this is helping my self esteem. I feel good about myself tonight. All the kids already in the class were so excited about me joining them. I've always been such a cheerleader for them that they returned the favor tonight. It was a great experience for me!
I am going to go to bed now. It's only 8:45, but I think I've earned the reason for early bedtime. At least tonight I will go to bed with a smile on my face. My body may feel a little achy, but its a good honest earned feeling tonight.

No, I don't train anymore. It got too expensive and I began getting hurt from my instructor pushing me toward competition. I started tae to learn self-control, not to win trophies.
I still practice some of the stretching, and also continue in my spiritual growth. I can say that during my short run with tae it has helped me more than anyone would have imagined. Too many lessons to type out here, but they are still with me today. So...the spiritual side of tae - what I was after - is here.
I do need to get back into yoga. I'm feeling old, short, crunched up, etc again and I found that yoga combined with the tae helped all that to go away. I slept better, etc. Since tae isn't an option for me today, at least yoga is!
