Start?!

Actually, of all the other teams in the AFC North, the Bengals are the team that I fear the most as a threat to the Steelers in the future. The Browns are just terrible and they aren't doing anything about it. The Ravens are good, but are aging and not setting sights on the future, either.

What can I say? The Steelers have consistently been the best team in that division for several decades, with very little exception. The Bengals, though, could make a run in the near future. I like how Coach Lewis thinks (like a Steeler).

Congrats on that win. I picked them in my football pool. I picked my bengals too, I'll have to check the standings and see how I did.

I knew there would be some conflicts pitting Clevland with Pittsburgh, they went at it pretty good a couple times.

Tell me about it. I love Joey Porter, but I wanted his head after he was ejected for a fight before the game even started. I'm sure Cowher will kill.

Cinci did a good job beating the Skins, but let's face it; the Skins suck. Good D, but absolutely no offense whatsoever.

So, care to place bets on Cinci VS Steelers this Sunday?

I'd wish the Bengals luck, but well, I wouldn't mean it anyway.

It should be a good game. Records in the NFL mean nothing, and nowadays, any team can beat any other team any day. Big Ben proved to me that he is the real deal when he didn't collapse in the Dog Pound, which everyone knows is one of the most hostile environments in the NFL.

Can he beat the Bengals? Yes, he can. WILL he? Remains to be seen.

Anyway, enjoy the game this Sunday. The big boys are comin' to town!

Cheers mate,

Chris

Not much of a football fan (Nascars my thing) but in the mid 80's I was in Cincy for a Moose convention and was going to my hotel room. The elevator door opened and the elevator was full. Doesn't seem unusual, except there were only 6 people on the elevator. Bengals Defensive people. Never imagined just how BIG these people are. Biggest one grabbed me, pulled me on and said " Always room for one more little guy". Felt like I just met BUBBA in a prison cell. Really nice guys though. Even if their size is scary.

LOL, football players are definitely not small.

Nascar, eh? I never understood that. Grown men driving 500 miles in a circle. Never impressed me. Ah well...

To each his own, mate!

Mid 80's Bengals with Ken Anderson and then Boomer. Those were the days.

Pitts already beat us once this year so it can't happen again.

Ok so there I did my part as a fan but the truth is I'll probably be picking you guys in my picks this week.

If the bengals loose I'll send you my Italian wife.

LOL, we won the first meeting, but this time we're in Cinci. Always tough.

Wow... Just wow...

Never ceases to amaze me in football. The Steelers manhandle the two "best" teams in the league. Then they play Cinci, a "mediocre" team, and Cinci takes 'em to the limit.

Mattison, your boys played an AWESOME game! Cinci had BR's number all day. The Steelers offensive line simply was not stopping the Bengals rush. The Steelers won with LUCK today, and just a few errors on Palmer's part.

After watching that game, I am in shock that the Steelers pulled it off.

Another amazing AFC North rivalry game is in the books.

My wife is not to happy about the begals loosing since now I have to ship her off to you. Good luck and I hape you have a good pair of earmuffs. Tip: An easy way to shut her up is to tie her hands behind her back, remember she's Italian.

Great win. They just kinda fell asleep in the 2nd half.

Fortunately for the Steelers, who were highly moderate yesterday, so did the Bengals.

Redskins = next victims.

Actually, they probably will play again, and it WILL be in Pittsburgh. Steelers have the home field advantage because they beat the Pats already.

Certainly a possibility!

Gotta give the Pats kudos. Even with a few injuries, they are still good. Gotta respect that team dynamic. Coach Bill is amazing.

I know! Erf... Not a good time to be living here since I'm not a New England sports fan... Ah well, I don't take it nearly as seriously as all these people do. I can understand their desire to be annoying, though. The teams here have been so bad for so long that now that the time of winning has finally come, it's like sensory overload. I'm happy for the sox, though. And I figure that if the Steelers can't do it, I might as well root for the Pats. I don't like them, but as long as they're not a division rival, I don't hate them either.

Yeah, the 70's was a magical time indeed. And I couldn't live without my weekly Bradshaw dose on Fox sports. Watching he and Howie go at it is always hilarious!

anyone put in an order for playoff tickets?

I have for the first time and while I"m sure it's too early to hear anything yet, if any of you are season ticket holders I figure you're going to find out about them before me (individual game ticket buyer - season ticket waiting list).

I also wanted to thank WorldBuilder for trying to help with my computer problem in that forum. It didn't work out as I'd hoped, but it seems XP will get me where I want to go.

In the meantime...Go Steelers!

Oh... My... God...

That Jacksonville game was a combination of a great game and a horrid game.

That was an old-school, smashmouth, slobberknocker!!! I LOVED IT!

I'm glad the Steelers eeked out the victory. They deserved to win by more, but the officiating in that game was the WORST I have ever seen. Even the crappy ESPN announcers were doing a better job of understanding penalties better, and they're morons.

Don't get me wrong, the Jags got shafted on a few calls, but overall the Steelers were bombarded with crappy calls all night. It's amazing they even had a chance...

11-1 baby!!!

Roethlisberger vs. Mini-Manning this week.

Mattison,

Did you watch the Cinci-Pats game last week! Holy cow, man. The Bengals took 'em to the limit. I really wanted them to pull it off. I think they would have had Carson not been injured... Awesome effort against the Pats! I think Cinci is going to be a real challenge next season.

They lost that game theirselves. It should have been won. I've got to hand it to my fairweather wife though. She wore her Bengals gear to work Monday.

Steelers are kicking butt.

Despite what the records showed, I knew the Giants would be tough, but they made the Steel City defense look like a bunch of rookies. It's a win, but I'm not happy about it at all. The Steelers were sloppy, and they had better get their act together or they won't last long in the playoffs.

Keeping my fingers crossed,

HOLY COWher!!!

I am loving this. Steelers won, SD lost (I'd rather face Indy than SD right now), and, if I'm really lucky, the Pats will fall to the Jets.

Regardless, home field advantage throughout and a bye week? Damn, that's great. The Steel City killers need the rest, because they are seriously banged up.

Hopefully, Big Ben is ok, and we'll see.

I've been very hesitant, but I'm getting more comfortable on the bandwagon! If Cowher is smart, he'll play third-stringers in Buffalo. I don't care if we lose by 50... We got what we needed, no sense risking injury.

Chris,

I'll bet he doesn't. And I doubt Andy Reid will either. I think they are destined to meet in the ALL PA Super Bowl.

Bengals win by the hairs of their chinny chin chin.

Steelers are going for the trophy though. They are "IMHO" more impressive than they have been in more than a decade or two.

That's possible, although with TO gone, the Falcons have a much greater chance of getting there now. IF Vick is on...

I think Cowher will compromise. I doubt he'll play Ben, and he'll keep first line players to a minimum this coming week. He's smart.

Let me explain. For Halloween, I found a template to make a pumpkin into a football helmet. Naturally, I made a Steelers pumpkin. Looked great. Well, Halloween came and went, and that was right about the time the Steelers started winning and playing well. Being superstitious, we decided to LEAVE the pumpkin no matter what.

Over the months, it has slowly withered into a pile of mush. Well, look for yourself.

Regardless of its stature, it has proven to work! The Steelers haven't lost since its inception.

But there's now a problem. We had a huge snowstorm, and in the haste of shoveling, the pumpkin mush was airlifted into a snow pile! OH NO!!!

Can the Steelers continue their winning ways without the weekly rubbing of the Magic Pumpkin Mush?

Only time will tell...

Chris

PS. Yes, I know... I'm weird...

World builder-
I like your guy's prospects. They don't have many weaknesses and their strength's suit wintertime, outdoor (REAL) football.
The all PA superbowl seems less certain now, with the injuries to some key eagles.
I've always liked the Steelmen- there's a lot of similarities between them and my team.
My Packers are back in the tourney again, though their inability to stop any but the most inept offenses will probably keep them from the title match

Gotta differ with you there... They have plenty of weaknesses historically, especially this year.

1. Although showing good things: ROOKIE QB.
2. Injuries out the wazoo (currently have at least 6 starters injured badly).
3. Good running game, but not versatile, and aging. Both of them.
4. Offensive line has a tendency to collapse.

True on both sides, but I am losing faith in the Eagles, although I hope they get there.

Seeing the Pack would be nice. Favre deserves the big game one last time!

Never thought I'd see this...

WOW... 15-1...

I was born right in the middle of the Steelers 70's Dynasty, so I never experienced it in person, but this season is amazing. Never thought I'd see it. I'm psyched, my folks are in awe, and we're having fun just being fans.

I'm usually very weary of the Steelers in situations like these, but I have to admit that after watch today's mauling of a good team in the Bills (even with their 2nd and 3rd string players!!), I now officially am confident that the Super Bowl is all theirs. They have all the tools. As long as they don't collapse mentally, I don't think any other team has a prayer.

They've already beaten the only teams that stastically are going to fight for it. Pats? Beaten, but very much a threat. Eagles? Beaten and sinking further, I believe. Hell, I don't think the Eagles will get past the Falcons (especially if Vick is ON).

At any rate, the road to the Super Bowl is going through Pittsburgh this year.

Can anyone oppose the Steelers now? Well, I hope not!

Chris
