If dowel pins are not bent and pieces fit together properly, then small cracks can be filled with plaster of paris and sanded smooth. For large cracks auto body filler can be used and sanded smooth and level. Remember slate must be smooth and level. Gaps between slates can be filled with plaster of paris and sanded smooth. Grout release from tile shop can be applied to surface of slate along seams and cracks (avoid getting into seams and cracks) will keep plaster of paris from sticking to surface. For more details & information on setting up pool table & refelting go to http://www.netpath.net/heads/faq/tablehow.html

If in doubt, there are folks who specialize in pool table repairs. Call or stop by local pool table retailers or pool halls.
