Baseball gadget needs pole - I need ideas!

Bought my son a "Hit-A-Way"

It needs to be mounted on a pole. I want this pole to be in my garage so my son can mess with it year-round.

I want the pole to be mobile. Meaning able to tilt and roll out of the way.

If you go to the following link, it takes you to the product.

I was going to buy a 2-3/8" - 8' chain link fence post.

I am looking for the best/cheapest way to stand it upright - my thoughts were a bucket of quickcrete but I don't know how wide the bucket should be to keep from tilting (he wont hit the pole but I don't want it to wobble.)

Any and all ideas are welcome.

You could fill an old tire with concrete for your base. It is much lower and wider than a 5 gallon bucket.

Sounds like Pilot Dane went to the same schools I did as a kid..... the good ole "pole in cement in the tire" trick.... works pretty well
