Omaha Poker

WOW, no forum for poker playing.

So I'm an avid on line poker player, trying my had at Omaha but I keep running into hands that I cant figure out why I didnt win!

This hand just occured, why is the hans showing that I only have an Ace high and not a straight?

It's not a straight when you are missing the queen. A straight is 5 cards in sequence. Replace the 3 with the queen and it's a straight. And in Omaha poker you must use 2 of the 4 blind cards in your hand... not just one. It's not Texas Holdum. So 2 of your straight cards must be in your blind... not just one.

I finally figured it out!

With Omaha you have to use two hole cards so that would be the queen and the 8.
The queen is needed to complete the straight, but the 8 has to be used which busts up the straight so the hand indicator in the corner is correct, it's only ace high!

Had to stare at that for a few minutes for it to sink in.

I'll stay with the play money for awhile!
