termite marks

I was wanting to know if what i see on the wood floor joist are a sign of termites.ill try and get pic in a few days.
It looks kind of like little black almost rice like shaped pit marks on the sides of the wood,no holes .I tapped it and it was solid .Is this maybe the waste or larva of termites or other bugs? Or a defect in wood?

Also what is the best way once you no longer have them to repair any wood that has the path boared out inside a tad?Should i use a wood hardener maybe or a epoxy ?And maybe use bora care like stuff in it 1st?
Thanks for any info.

I’ll wait till we see the photos but it doesn’t sound like termites. Subterranean termites bring dried mud into their galleries in the wood. I’m wondering if you’re seeing the end of wood grain.

Sorry i havent been able to get any pics/phone problems.
The ,marks look like small black droppings inside the wood .If i had a pic to see i could identify if thats what they looked like.
Some of them can be rubbed off and others are imbedded in the wood in different places on different pieces with no rot around them .
