Worker termites discovered in kitchen
This is strange. I found about 15 termites, most of which gathered in 2 of the round sunken stoves. I found couple more on the floor and one termite on top of the metal hood.
I had a problem with termites in 2 of the wood open beams about 3 years ago but thought I had eradicated that. But if they are coming from one of the 2 X 6's in the roof, how the hell did they get to the stove?
And I'm used to finding termites with wings and during hot summer days. It's been raining until today. Do workers go out like this?

You got used to finding swarmer's! Any sign of swarmer's should have been a red flag.
100% sure there termites?
Other then swarmer's it would be rare to see them since they live inside the wood.
Had an exterminator come look at this?
There is no DIY spray that's going to fix a colony big enough to produce swarmer's.

What else would they be? They sure look like workers to me (no wings). It's crazy because I keep finding them in the round stoves in the rear. They must be coming from inside the vent.

Tough to take a picture through a magnifying glass but this is what I was able to get...

I have no hands-on experience with drywood termites. Here in the northeast we have subterranean termites only and the photos don’t like like subterraneans.
I’m not convinced they are termites. Take the specimens to your local county agent for objective identification. Let us know what you find.

I don't know what else it could be. Not an Old House Borer or Powder Post Beetle.
Here's a better pic....

Good pic. I’m thinking it’s a termite as the antennae are straight as opposed to curled or bent. I wish I could help better but we just don’t see or deal with these guys here. Keep us posted.

OK. I'm hanging up plastic to figure out where they are jumping out from.
According to Orkin worker termites across groups tend to look the same so I don't know if these are subterranean or drywood.
