Respirator or just a dust mask?

When spraying insecticides, pesticides and bora care in a confined space like a crawl space, should i use the gas mask like respirator or is the N95 mask ok?
Bora care recommends breathing protection but they seem to think either the N95 or the respirator will do.
due to the way my house was built, i dont have the normal 4 foundation walls, i have foundation walls in the middle of the basement and crawl spaces on top of dirt in other places, im probably going to need to spray all exposed wood in the basement to meet bora care's requirement of spraying anything within 2 ' of the ground or a foundation wall.
I dont expect to be able to afford to do this all at once so i can stop if it starts to look like im fumigating.

I use a cartridge style respirator. If I can smell what I'm spraying the mask isn't working.

If you were in a more open area I'd fine with the N95, but not in crawl space like what you're describing.

Any form of paper filter mask is only good for particulates, it does nothing for vapors like pesticides and paint fumes so be ware if what your using!

I could not copy/paste the specific section of the label, but on page 2, Personal protective equipment, PPE, it gives detail about the type of NIOSH respirators that would work. I don't trust paper masks for much as they rarely conform to the face as do a fitted respirator. When I create sawdust, I wear a face-fitting respirator as opposed to a paper mask.

I’m not familiar with the N95 as I haven't worn one, but if it can be snugged against the face, as opposed to paper masks that can open at the sides, and if it stays fitted even when physically working, sweating, breathing hard, then I'd feel safe with that level of protection when using bora care. When using more typical insecticides, I would want a respirator with organic vapor cartridges, probably with a dust filter stacked on the top of each cartridge.

Thanks everyone.
i already read everything bora care has on their website.
I was confused because the paper facemask and the cartridge style respirator dont seem to me to be in the same class. The respirator seems to give you about ten times more protection , when used with the combination organic filter and the paper dust filter, than just the paper mask, so i was confused as to why bora care would approve both.
I Will go with the respirator.
Bonus, i will be all set for the next riot.
If i can find a radiation/nerve agent/ bio filter for it, i will be ready for anything.
