VP IAQ Disharge Temp Sensor

Does anyone know, what the VP IAQ unit use the discharge temp sensor for? How will adding it effect the t-stat operation?

Thanks,
Rob

If you only have an EIM and not a zone panel, the DATS (discharge air temp sensor) is used for testing purposes only. It allows the technician to view the temperature discharge for each stage of heating.

They are used for gas/oil fired zone set up to prevent the furnace from over heating since some zone duct are too small and won't allow enough air movement to keep the heat exchanger cooled.

Also is used for cooling to prevent the coil from freezing up.
