Anyone have any ideas on why my thermostat isnt fully following its schedule. I have a pellet stove so I only have it programmed for 7 days a week to cut in at 545am to 6:45am (24c) so its not drafty during shower time. Rest of day is set very low to 8c. I have suspected in the past but today I was up really early before 5am, it was set to 24c and furnace was cut in. I doubled checked schedule and yes it was still set to 545am as wake for 24c. And yes the time on the thermostat, it was about 4:50am. Other then that it has always worked properly and even cut in at 8c once when I forgot to fill the pellet stove.

I hope someone can help me with this, I've got a Trane XR80 propane furnace that I heat a small living space (1100 Sq. Ft.). I've installed a heat exchanger coil in the furnace duct work to be fed with a waste oil boiler made by Omni out of Spokane, WA. The boiler is much larger than I need to heat the space I have right now, (250,000 BTU) I will need the extra BTU's for a future home located next door to the existing living space. I have the boiler set up to heat a 110 gallon insulated storage tank (Therma-stor made by Dari-kool, DEC International), that way the boiler is not doing a lot of short cycling since the boiler is much larger than I need. I'll then draw out of the storage tank to supply hot water to the heat exchanger coil in the furnace duct. I would like to have two t-stats (which I have already) hooked to the system. I would like to use the non-programable honeywell t-stat to be hooked up to the furnace (the propane part) as a back up, in case I run low on waste oil, or the boiler is down for repair(this t-stat would be set at a lower temp. setting than the programable t-stat, a honeywell magic stat CT3200, the programable t-stat will be used to draw the hot water from the Therma-stor tank via the Taco circ pump). I would like to have the programable t-stat, when it calls for heat, power up the honeywell R8845U universal switching relay, the relay would turn on the circ. pump circulating the hot water out of the Therma-stor tank to the coil in the furnace. The furnace coil is located about 30 feet from the Therma-stor tank, and the hot water is supplied to the coil with 1 inch pex line through a Taco 0010-F3 (the pump is probably larger than I needed but I will need it for future use, and it came with the boiler). I also have a chronotherm III available, I'm not sure if I can use this t-stat rather than have two t-stats hooked up to my system. I have a five wires that run the system now, green, yellow, white, red, & blue. If I run the system with 2 t-stats (if thats possible) my idea is to use the non programmable t-stat with the existing 5 wires for the propane backup and run a new group of wires to the programmable t-stat. Now here's my questions, I would like to be able to, when the programmable t-stat calls for heat have the t-stat power up the universal switching relay which will start the circ pump pumping the hot water to the coil in the furnace duct work. Is there a way to delay the start of the furnace fan, other than using an aquastat on the return line from the coil in the duct work. I would like to have it function like the propane furnace function does now, (t-stat calls for heat, starts the flame, after a period of time the fan comes on, t-stat is satisfied, flame turns off, & the fan runs for a cool down time). I would like to have the furnace do these functions, minus it starting the flame, can this be done? I'm open for options other than the ones that I've described. I was told to use a two stage t-stat, but wasn't told how to wire it up. Thanks, Ben
