Carrier thermostat.
My a/c just stopped working. The unit is about 5 years old.
Here are the facts as I checked them.
The blower motor will not come on no mater how low I set the a/c.
The heat will not come on either no mater how high I set the heat unless it's in emht mode.
I can turn on the fan manually with the thermostat.
No circuit breakers are tripped.
The thermostat is a Carrier that came with my house when I bought it and am unsure of the model. I am leaning towards that being the culprit but am looking for some advice from someone who knows more about it than me.
I am a mechanic by trade so I have a good understanding of electrical, so feel free to get technical.
Thanks
Eric

I am not sure what to say, the fan runs when you turn the fan ON, but it don't when you call for cool.
Since we don't know what model you have, dose it in the past show "Heat, or Cool" on the screen when the t-stat calls for something?
If it has in the past, does it show that still, and nothing happens?
I would remove the t-stat (Power off), and then jumper between R and W, the furnace should fire off.
or
R and Y just the outdoor unit should run.
