Trying to figure out whats wrong with my system... 1)The blower fan comes on periodically, even when t-stat (Hunter 44860) is set to 'off'. I thought this was most likely an issue with the t-stat so I bought a new one (Honeywell). Upon installing the new t-stat my problems resumed, so I decided it wasn't a faulty t-stat and reinstalled the old one. 2)Since reinstalling my original t-stat (Hunter 44860) I can't get the outside unit to come on. The Wiring I have done (twice for good measure) is as follows: Rc/R - Red (Jumpered to RH) C - Blue Y2 - Yellow W2 - White (Jumpered to E) O - Orange G - Green I have also gone through the settings to confirm it is on 'heat pump' and 'electrical' (not oil/gas). The fan is set to AUTO.

[B]Hardware[/B] Hunter 44428 Thermostat Goodman CPKE42-1B Split System Heat Pump Goodman GMP/GMPE(can't see label) Power Vented Mult-Pos Gas Furnace A few years ago I replaced the tstat that came with our new house with a Hunter 44428 under the hopes of lower bills, etc. I thought I got all of the wiring correct but have had two issues ever since that we've lived with. I guess in my older age, I'm not as tolerant anymore. [B]Issue 1[/B] On days/nights, when the temp lingers between 35 and 45, the external unit is out blowing cool air a la heat pump style. The unit seems to be on forever for just a couple of degrees. [I]Couldn't it just fire the gas and heat up fast?[/I] [B]Issue 2[/B] Below 35ish degrees, the natural gas unit kicks on and we get great heat. Unfortunately sometimes on those really cold nights below 15 degrees, the system seems to go stupid, not firing up the natural gas and just blowing cold air leaving me to resort to emergency heat. Do I need any jumpers? What else can I take a look at? Wiring at Thermostat (7 wires, no W1, no A, no jumpers) R Y W2 G E O/B C The thermostat also has a switch NR, RB, and RO.
