tcont 803 t stat - comfort R

Gentlemen-

Which in your opinion is a better way to control the stages, heating & cooling---Honeywell/Trane Tcont 803 T-stat or comfort R. My contractor has jumpered W1,W2 together on XV 95 terminal board.

XV95
XL16- AC not HP

Thanks in advance

Two stage stat is the best way to control the heat. Longer run times gives a better comfort. Remove the W1/W2 jumper.

The 803 is not going to control the blower speed for humidity, best to step down to the 802 or TH8320.

Comfort-R on the board is used in the cooling mode. I'd have that set to on/jumpered for your system.
