LUX HP2110 to HAI Omnistat 2 Thermostat
Heya!
I am really happy I stumbled upon this forum today!
I'm a new home owner so I am looking forward to frequenting this site regularly.
After dealing with a horrid-made LUX that likes to cut off for no reason, (and now the a/c stays on permanently), I bought a HAI Omnistat 2 to replace it with. I am not going to use the dehumidifier/humidifier or zoning options now. I will be using this unit for just its normal thermostat abilities.
Let me give you a rundown of the equipment...
Inside unit -- Trane model # TWE042C140B1
Outside unit -- Trane High Effeciency Weathertron Heat Pump XE 1000 # TWR042C100B2
LUX HP2110 Thermostat (to be replaced) Link
W3 -- Unused
E -- Black Wire
G -- Green Wire
Y -- Yellow Wire
R -- Red Wire
O -- Orange Wire
W2 -- White Wire
B -- Unused
L -- Unused
Two wires are unused, Brown & Blue.
Omnistat 2 Thermostat (to be installed) Link
This is how the diagram looks in the installation instructions for the Heat Pump (2 Stage Heat / 1 Stage Cool)...
[Dehumidifier (D)]--------------[Dehumidifier]---------|
[Humidifier (H)]----------------[Humidifier]------------|
[Ground Fault (L)]--------------[Fault Relay]--------------(loops into 24VAC ctrl trns)
[Fan (G)]----------------------[Fan Relay]------------|
[Compressor (Y1)]--------------[Compressor Relay]----|
[Energized in Heat (B)]----
[Energized in Cool (O)]----------[Reversing Valve]------|
[Auxilirary Heat (W2)]-----------[Aux Heat Relay]------|
[24VAC Common* (C)]---------------------------------|
[24VAC "HOT" (RC)]----------------------------(loops into 24VAC ctrl trns)
So.... How should I wire this thing?

I'm figuring everything you said, Jay, is probably 100% with the possible addition of hvac's mod?
I won't wire until we get this figured out...
I apologize for not being specific enough about the thermostat. It is a RC-2000WH.
Can I just extend the unused blue or brown to the 24V Common? I've no idea what this might entail, so I'd have to get a rundown of what it's involving...
Thanks so much, so far!!!
