New Honeywell RTH7600 wiring help.

Hello,

I am trying to replace my old White-Rogers model 1F92W-71 with a new Honeywell RTH7600 and I am rather confused by the wiring that I am seeing. I have a heat pump system. The heat pump is a Trane XL1200 Weatherton HP and the air handler is a Trane model BWV724P100E0. Below is how my current thermostat is wired.

G - Green wire - Fan output
C - Blue - Transformer 24v AC common
L - Brown - Malfunction light
R - Red - Transformer 24v hot
O - Orange - Changeover output
B - Not connected
E1 - Black - Emergency Heat Relay (Cycles on 1st stage in emergency mode)
E2 - Not connected
Y1 - Yellow and red(jumper from w1) - Stage 1 cool
Y2 - not connected
W1 - Red jumper to Y1 - Stage 1 heat
W2 - White - Stage 2 heat
W3 not connected

Any advice on which wires should be connected to which terminals of the new thermostat?

Honeywell = color
C = blue
G = green
Y = yellow
O/B = orange
Rc & R = red
Aux = white
E = black
Tape off brown.

You must also configure it for your system.
option 170 = 7
190 = 0
I recommend setting all heat CPH to 3 for improved comfort.

Thank you very much. I will give it a shot. However i am not sure what you mean by "I recommend setting all heat CPH to 3 for improved comfort.". Are you talking about setting the Heating cycle rates both to 3 or High Efficiency?

Yes, I would set them to 3 (for high efficiency).
