Looking for a thermostat
Hi,
I am looking for a thermostat where you can change the default override temperature. As example: after 10 pm our heating goes down to 18 degrees. At midnight, my stepdaughter comes home and increase the temperature to 22 degrees. After half an hour, she goes to her bed but don't reset the temperature. So the whole night the temperature in my house stays at 22 degrees. I am looking for a thermostat, when someone increase the temperature, after 30 minutes it goes automatic back to the programmed temperature.
Is this thermostats for sale, f so what is the brand and type?
Thanks,
Greg

I don't think you'll find one that will reset after a specific time...but I believe any programmable stat can be set so that it reverts back at a set time per the program. Just add another set time. For example...6AM 22C. 4PM 22C. 10PM 18C. 1AM 18C.
As long as the permanent hold or hold button isn't pushed...it will revert back to the program at the prescribed time.
Either that or start charging the step-daughter for her additional fuel usage. When she has to kick out $50 a month I bet she'll remember to turn it down.

I use all four program times. The White Rodgers or Emerson 1F95-1291 has a default override time of 4 hours. I can't understand why this option isn't on the market.
Thanks,

Nest is basically a computer, has many more features than other thermostates, but it has a pile of menus and things for you to learn. It has a motion sensor so they claim you do not need to program it at all, it determines if someone is there by itself. $250 + tax + shipping + installation. Looks nice though.
